What is Assignments?

In the Assignments tool teachers can create, publish, collect and grade digital assignments. These assignments can be given a deadline. It is possible to check students work for plagiarism with the originality check tool Urkund which is integrated in the assignments tool.

Suggestions for use

This tool works great for both exams and smaller assignments during the course. In Assignments, there are options for grading in different scales, and it is possible to connect the tool to Gradebook. This means that the results of various assignments, once graded, are gathered in Gradebook for viewing by teachers and students alike.

The Assignments tool can be used to allow for re-submission of an assignment, giving students the opportunity to complement an assignment. The teacher can download all assignments to his/her own computer if that is preferred over reading them in Mondo. When the teacher publishes a graded assignment, the student can access both the grade and the feedback given in the tool.

Things to consider

  • Assignments are private, meaning assignments submitted by one student is not visible by any other student. Only the teacher can view all submitted assignments.
  • If you want to allow for late submission of an assignment, you must configure the assignment appropriately. You will then be able to see which of the submitted assignments that have been submitted later than deadline.
